About This Work
Suspended in the clear shallows off Cape Sounion, a golden fried egg jellyfish drifts on the Aegean current, its amber dome and violet tipped arms glowing against turquoise water and a sunlit sandy floor. Harmless and hypnotic, these jellies gather in the warm bays of Greece through the late summer.
Named for the Greek word for jellyfish, and for the Gorgon of myth, "Medusa" is a study in color, movement, and the quiet strangeness of the sea.
