About This Work
Captured offshore in Costa Rica, this is one of my signature images, and one of the hardest I've ever made. A shot like this asks for everything to align at once: the luck of finding the encounter, and the action holding together long enough to frame it. What makes it special is the over/under perspective. Below the surface, tuna tear through a bait ball in a blur of speed, while above it seabirds dive and strike from the sky. Two halves of the same frenzy, caught in a single frame. Moments like this last only seconds, and they rarely give you the chance to capture both worlds at once.
